About Pact

Pact Community Support (Pact) is a community-based and focussed organisation with a strong commitment to justice.  Our offices are based in Ballarat and Horsham.  We provide client support and advocacy services to vulnerable and disadvantaged tenants and consumers in our community.  Our skilled and experienced Advocacy and Support Team work with people in all areas of the Grampians Region of Victoria.  Our Staff also work with tenant groups and community facilities, and other community groups across the region, and undertake quality improvement and social policy research and projects.

Pact is the trading arm of Grampians Housing Network (GHN).  Our Board of Directors are volunteers with a range of skills and experience relevant to our aims, and a commitment to contributing personally to social and economic justice in their community.  As a public company limited by guarantee, GHN is responsible and accountable under Corporations Law and is required to meet the reporting and financial accountability regulations of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

Pact has been working to alleviate poverty and homelessness, and sustain vulnerable tenancies, since 1994.  Since that time we have provided tenancy support, negotiation and mediation services, as well as tenant and consumer advocacy and representation at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).  Our research and community development activities include projects related to social policy, homelessness, family violence, community sector needs assessment and evaluation, quality improvement, and tenant and community participation.  We maintain strong links with community networks in the Grampians and across Victoria.
